➡  Polyglots 📆 29 November 2023 ✍️  Konrad Jerzak vel Dobosz

We recently had the pleasure of visiting a school in Opoczno – “Zespół Szkół Prywatnych” (or “Private Schools Group” in English). It was a day marked by curiosity and vibrant energy as the polyglots, Konrad and Marlon, stepped into the school. Their arrival sparked a wave of excitement among the students and staff, setting the stage for a memorable linguistic experience.

From kindergarten to 8th grade, students were divided into three groups, eagerly awaiting their turn to interact with the famed language experts. The anticipation in the air was palpable, a testament to the school’s commitment to fostering a love for languages.

Questions that spanned the globe

The questions prepared by the kids were as diverse as they were insightful. Ranging from inquiries about the world’s most challenging languages to personal tales of language acquisition, Konrad and Marlon navigated each query with enthusiasm and depth. A highlight was the discussion on artificial languages like Na’vi, showcasing the broad spectrum of linguistic interests among the students.

Engaging in a linguistic challenge

The highlight of the day was a unique competition. Konrad and Marlon challenged the students to identify languages in a fun guessing game. The response from the kids was nothing short of impressive. Their correct guesses won them books, but more importantly, it was a victory for their linguistic curiosity and acumen.

A tour to remember

The visit culminated in a tour of the school, allowing the polyglots Konrad and Marlon to witness the vibrant educational environment firsthand. A lunch with the school director and staff provided a perfect setting for reflective conversations and shared aspirations.

Inspiration: a two-way street

As our polyglots left the school, it wasn’t just the students who carried away inspiration. The enthusiasm and motivation of these young minds equally inspired us at Elemelingua. Their eagerness to learn and explore the vast world of languages reaffirmed our mission and passion for language education.

This visit was more than just an event; it was a celebration of linguistic curiosity and the unquenchable thirst for knowledge in young adventurers. It’s the encounters like these that continue to fuel our journey at Elemelingua, reminding us of the powerful impact of language and culture in shaping young minds.
