I started at zero but now I can understand individual sentences and words from conversations.
What was the biggest problem for me before I signed up for the course? I had trouble finding time to study and adapting my classes to different working hours throughout the week.
How did I find the course? I saw a video on YouTube and I was interested in the way of teaching. I decided to try it, because I knew that traditional school teaching is not effective for everyone.
What did I like the most about the course? Being motivated everyday to learn the language through the tasks, the group and the course organizers. Various tasks forcing you to overcome language barriers.
How do you evaluate the learning outcomes? Amazing. I started learning German from absolute zero. Now I catch individual sentences and words from conversations and in movies. I can create simple sentences, and although I know this is just the beginning, I do not feel discouraged despite the intensity of the course, but a desire to develop further.
I liked the recordings of a native speaker on the flashcards
What was the biggest problem for me before I enrolled in the course? Mainly I had problems with listening and pronunciation. I think it was not as good as it should have been.
What made me sign up for the course? My greatest motivation to start this course were my Brazilian friends. I wanted to understand them and to communicate better. In general, I felt that my Portuguese was not at the level I wanted. I was also inspired by interesting videos, podcasts, webinars about this course, methods of learning that I watched earlier.
What did I like the most about the course? I liked many things especially the possibility of everyday learning at any time of the day with a good application. I also liked the recordings of a native speaker on the flashcards and a lot of sentences of the language used every day, i.e. colloquial, good communication through comments and e-mail in case of ambiguity of a particular sentence from the course. I also like the good and clear explanation in the form of video and written form of how to work with the cards in the app and what is to be done in a particular week of the course. Also the prizes that could be won for points received from daily learning and group tasks were encouraging. Also the help for a sick child (If someone studies every day, 7 days a week in a row the teacher of the course donates a certain amount to help a sick child)
How do I assess the effects of learning after 3 months? I am very pleased with this course! In general my Portuguese is much better than before. And most importantly, this is confirmed by my friends from Brazil who are the best, in my opinion, "examiners" of my learning. I think I have found a learning system that suits me so ... See you at the next language course !!! π
This is the best course I have participated in.
What prompted me to sign up for the course? Certainly Konrad, who convinced me with his achievements that he knows how to construct the course to be effective.
What I liked the most about the course? The fact that I had contact with the language every day. The fact that we listened first and we were making ourselves familiar with the language a lot. The "islands" were also a great idea.
How do I assess the learning outcomes? I think I have learned a lot, especially when it comes to listening to the language. It is important if we learn the language in our home country, as in my case, where while living in Poland, I usually don't have contact with real English. The daily repetition machine is also great, I didn't know the app before, and now I can't imagine a better tool. Daily supervision by adding the next phrases is motivating as is increasing the speed of material processing. This is the best course I have participated in. There were no single words taken out of context, which fly out of your head over time and have to be re-learned. The course system worked in such a way that there was a feeling of constant support and motivation by the course administrators throughout the course, which created a unique atmosphere.
I can "hear" the language much better and understand a lot from what I hear.
What problems did you have before you signed up for the course? Listening and speaking.
What prompted you to enroll in the course? Systematic homework and the charitable cause.
What did you like about the course? Working with flashcards, the possibility of group contact and fundraising for a charity. Regularity, consolidation of the already learned material, as well as care and assistance in difficult matters, e.g. dealing with technical matters, so people who are not fluent in the world of computers can also benefit.
How do you evaluate the learning outcomes? I can "hear" the language much better and understand a lot from what I hear. Regularity is the key to learning a language, I am grateful that I acquired this feature and I will repeat this material every day.
The course is primarily about working with well prepared flashcards
Many people who want to learn a foreign language face similar problems: they don't know where to start, are unable to plan their revision meaningfully, they quickly lose their motivation. I was no exception.
I signed up for the course, because I wanted to try a different method of learning a language. I wanted to take part in a course that puts specific requirements in front of me, but at the same time, does not require me to study during fixed hours. The course is primarily about working with well prepared flashcards, so course members do not have to wonder what materials they should study the next day. This helps a lot and saves energy that can be spent on group tasks or additional studying. Anyone who studies regularly, spends at least one hour a day studying, and actively participates in group activities will surely see the results of their work!
I no longer have a language barrier and I think it is a great success.
I studied German at school. As it usually is, when it is not used, everything is forgotten.
My sudden departure to a German-speaking country prompted me to enroll in this course. A friend of mine recommended this course to me as a German language learning program that I will be able to communicate with, without any language barrier.
What I liked most about the course was that I learn the language using flashcards. I really liked this method. Being in a German-speaking country, I practice the language and I am able to speak German.
My conversations may not be at a very advanced level, but I can still get by. I no longer have a language barrier and I think it is a great success.
During the course I learned more than I expected, I developed a systematic approach
Before I signed up for the course, I had problems with developing systematic learning, fear of speaking, and I did not see too much effects of my effort. Often, I was simply bored with learning.
I was encouraged to sign up for the course by Konrad, the idea of learning without repeating individual words and a different course form from those I knew so far.
I liked the "different approach to the topic", thanks to which learning was not boring and I noticed the effects quickly. Cooperation instead of competition. It's great that we were able to raise money for charity thanks to our study credits. It was an additional push. During the course, I learned more than I expected, I developed a systematic approach, I no longer mindlessly listened to e.g. songs, but I tried to pick up familiar words or sentences. I've also found that I don't have to speak completely correct to start talking. Finally, I got off my seat and did something. I highly recommend this course!
I broke down some language barriers that I was not able to overcome at school
This is probably the best form of learning. It is very motivating to learn at least 10 flashcards a day every day, thanks to which I have become systematic, and with each day the level of my use of the language has increased. I signed up for the course, because I was very happy after the 1st edition of learning Spanish. During the 3 months of my studies, I made more progress than during the 7 years of learning German in primary, middle and high schools. I broke down some language barriers that I was not able to overcome at school...
After the course, I understand 80% of simple YouTube videos.
What was the biggest problem for me before I enrolled in the course? It depends on which language. With Portuguese I had a serious problem with pronunciation. The course certainly helped me to listen and remember a lot phonetically.
What made you sign up for this course? My planned trip to Brazil and willingness to embrace the language basics on the trip. I'm learning Spanish which helped a little with the understanding.
What did you like the most about the course? I liked the regularity which was helped by the course structure. Nice audio flashcards, because plain flashcards are not so interesting.
How do you evaluate the effects of learning after 3 months? After the course, I understand 80% of simple YouTube videos. The course gave me a nice basis for further learning, especially past tenses and expressing the future and the present. Spanish helped a bit, but without everyday work, nothing would've happened.
I can get answers to bothering questions at every stage of learning!
What problems did you have before you signed up for the course? I did not know how to start learning on my own, in order to achieve the expected results and communicate freely with foreigners.
What prompted you to enroll in the course? I read the book Secrets of Polyglots and motivated by the knowledge of Konrad, I decided to try it.
What did you like most about the course? The greatest advantage of the course is the constant help offered by Konrad and the possibility of getting answers to bothering questions at every stage of learning.
How do you evaluate the learning outcomes after completing the course? I am very pleased. I did not expect that in such a short time I would be able to talk and, above all, speak correctly.
This course has built a systematic learning in me
This course has built a systematic learning in me. I sit down every day and repeat sentences aloud, and thanks to that, I remember a lot!
I have very good impressions after the course.
I have very good impressions after the course. I didn't even expect that I would remember so many words and that it would be so easy for me to form sentences. Recently, I read the headline of an article in Spanish out of the corner of my eye, and it was only after a minute that I realized that I had understood it, as if I had read it in my own language.
I liked the fact that, whether I wanted it or not, I had to study practically every day
What was the biggest problem for me before I enrolled in the course? Sometimes I had no motivation to sit on my butt and start studying :)
What made me sign up for the course? I was already following the Secrets of Polyglots website and I had read Konrad's book. Due to having 2 young children at home, full-time stationary courses were eliminated, so I liked the home-study form of this course and the fact that the offer included languages ββthat I had long wanted to learn (Portuguese and Norwegian).
What did I like the most about the course? I liked the fact that, whether I wanted it or not, I had to study practically every day π Thanks to the course I learned to use every possible minute, because there were very intense weeks, where there was a lot of learning. I did not want to be left behind, so I did not waste time on the so-called "time eaters" and I devoted every possible moment to learning.
How I evaluate the effects of learning after 3 months? I am very satisfied. I feel that I have a good command of the material covered in the course.
By not doing tedious grammar exercises, I started to understand the language better!
What was the biggest problem for me before I signed up for the course? My biggest problem was choosing the right learning materials. There are many different materials, but you really don't know where to start and how to learn. The second problem was the chronic lack of regularity.
What prompted me to enroll in the course? A clear presentation of what is in the course, what it is and what I can learn from it.
What did I like the most about the course? I liked the fact that many times the same words were used in different sentences, in different contexts. Thanks to this, I could better understand the structure of a given sentence and remember the words faster. The repetitions and group assignments were also very good. I was also learning every day, so my regularity benefited from it.
How do you evaluate the learning outcomes? By not doing tedious grammar exercises, I started to understand it better. I see greater effects than after a German course, which I attended for half a year, with was five days a week.
Due to interesting tasks and the element of competition in groups, I had a reason to learn regularly.
This course is a real boost of energy to act. For a long time, I was wondering how to start learning a new language.
This course motivated me. Due to interesting tasks and the element of competition in groups, I had a reason to learn regularly. After some time, learning turned into a habit by itself and now every day, even on weekends, I remember about learning. Thanks to regular exercises, I see great progress - I understand more and more, and I am able to build short statements without much thought. It's only after 3 months!
Thank you Konrad for this course.
